Website Design, Art Direction, Graphic Design, Translations
Laredo Immigrant Alliance is a nonprofit in Laredo, Texas, dedicated to advocating for immigrant rights through community engagement, education, and organizing. Our goal was to design a website that reflected their mission and values while making it easy for their audience to access the resources they need — and to actively encourage support through volunteering and donations.

The Challenge
LIA's original website didn't reflect who they are or how they serve their community. Resources, volunteer opportunities, and ways to donate were hard to find, and their impact wasn't fully visible. Their audience spans Spanish- and English-speaking audiences and includes students, community members, lawyers, and organizations. We had to design a website that served this broad audience without feeling crowded or slow.
Our Approach
With updated photos, text, and branding assets, the new website reflects who LIA is and who they serve. We were intentional about layout and flow to keep navigation simple for every intended audience, and ran several user-test walkthroughs to confirm each group could navigate the site with ease.

Final Design

Our main goal for the homepage was to address every one of LIA's pain points and goals; everything on this page solves a problem the previous homepage had.
Who They Are: This had to be front and center, so visitors would know who LIA is, who they serve, and what they do within seconds of landing on the site. That's why the homepage opens with a hero image showing LIA in action, paired with a short description.
Their Services: Because LIA serves such a wide range of audiences, it was important to help users find the right information quickly without having to dig through the site. That's why we placed their programs and a bio section right below the hero, so users see them as soon as they start scrolling.
Getting the Community Involved: LIA's color palette was already bright and welcoming, so we took it further by adding photography that humanizes the brand. Letting visitors see the people LIA collaborates with and supports. LIA also wanted to make it as easy as possible for community members to get involved, so we built volunteer and donation information into accessible sections on the homepage and in the header.

LIA offers several programs, each geared toward a different audience, plus an extensive list of resources. Our job was to showcase all of it clearly, without feeling crowded or hard to navigate.
Programs Page: We organized LIA's three programs into three buttons at the top of the page, so visitors can jump straight to the one they're looking for instead of scrolling through everything.
Resources Page: Since this page changes often, we built a template that's easy for anyone on LIA's team to edit or duplicate as resources are added, removed, or updated. We used visual hierarchy so users can find what they need without reading every line.

Both pages needed to be encouraging and show what donating or volunteering actually means for LIA, so we designed each one with that in mind.
Donation Page: LIA's donation link suggests set amounts, so we worked with them to show how each amount makes a direct impact. We also added quotes from community members and impact numbers to show the tangible difference LIA's work makes.
Volunteer Page: We added images, quotes, and a sign-up form to make it easy for visitors to feel motivated and know exactly how to get involved.
Family Preparedness Quick Sheet
One of LIA's key resources is a Family Preparedness Plan, designed to help community members prepare for and navigate potential immigration issues. Since the plan includes extensive information that needs frequent updates, we designed an easily editable PDF template that LIA's team could update themselves as needed.

TYSM for all your help with our website and for having a tremendous amount of patience and understanding with our team. We have gotten positive feedback on the website design and have seen increased engagement with our community since launching.
It was an overall positive experience and pleasure working with you all.
